BEADS Productions, founded by Ruby Ballantyne and Cameron Wight in 2024, was initially created to bring our own ideas to life. We stared with music videos and micro shorts, transitioning into short form narrative films - all with comedy and genre at the core of our work. We’re now looking to help others bring their ideas to life, and have already worked with musicians, influencers and film makers. If you have an idea you want made, why not BEADS??

Ruby is a Director of Photography with six years of experience in cinematography. Having had a passion for directing from a young age, Ruby was eager to begin work on BEADS to expand her filmmaking practice. Their work is fuelled by a love of colour, precise composition and a yearning for escapism.

Ruby has a background in theatre and choreography and uses this experience to give BEADS a unique perspective. They specialise in comedy and expressive camera work, with a particular interest in developing visual language that complements a script's tone and humour.

Cameron started his journey in the film industry as an actor, but whenever he was on set he was fascinated in what was happening behind the camera. When BEADS was founded, he delved into the world of producing, writing and directing/ADing, working on many different narrative films in these positions. He uses his acting skills with directing, his degree in script writing and his experience on set with producing.

He has now moved into the commercial world, and has garnered a lot of experience in this side of the industry too, helping BEADS grow into the commercial space. He’s exceptionally proud of the work he’s created with BEADS and is excited for what’s next!
